5 Great benefits of Chess for Child Development
Our academy was started in an attempt to provide the best service for our children. Being a parent and going through many mediocre classes for kids, we started our own company Leadership Sports HK to fill the gap and ensure the right child development.
We have trained professional chess coaches and we control the size of our classes so we can give the deserved attention to each child.
It is truly a pleasure to watch them learn and grow in the game and improve themselves in various areas of their life from what they have learned through the game.
There are many benefits of teaching chess to your child, here are some of them:
- It improves the ability to concentrate and Focus:
Focus is one of the main requirements of Chess, it is merely impossible to play the game without focusing. Since the opponents do not tell you of their strategy. It is important for a player to concentrate and keep track. Our coaches have specific drills to help improve focus. - Problem Solving:
The game of Chess requires problem solving as we get stuck in a difficult position. There are many different ways to come out of a mess and that’s where it helps to have a professional giving guidance to a child and letting a child think of multiple ways to solve a certain problem. - Decision Making:
Decision making is a necessary process if you want to have any kind of success in basically anything. To learn decision making as a child is a great gift that can stay with you for a lifetime. Our coaches encourage children to make tough decisions. Some times what seems to a short term loss can end up as a winning move in the long term. - Increases Creativity:
Chess although requires lot of analytical thinking, but there is also an aspect where the player requires to think out of the box. There have been studies done on kids who play chess compared to other activities proving that it works on both the sides of the brain which greatly improves creativity and creative thinking. - Planning and foresight:
Foreseeing your own moves and your opponent’s moves is actually a crucial part of Chess. Our coaches present the kids with many different scenarios making them use different tactics to bring the game forward. Planning and foresight comes as a natural gift if you learn chess the right way and with a professional who is challenging you in a right direction.
